The island is somewhat remote but there is a visitor center/gift shop where you can buy goods you will need for the day. Public access is easiest at Beachwalker Park where you will pay $10 for parking but have convenient beach access with bathrooms and showers.

Met all our expectations in every way. Great for couples, families, girls weekends, golfing weekends! Adults only pool plus a separate family pool. Great place to ride bikes.

Kiawah is a wealthy retirement area so expect everything to be super nice but expensive. The golf is world class. If you're in Charleston come see Kiawah and might not want to leave.

I'm torn about even putting this review out there because I love the privacy of this beach. Never crowded and always beautiful!

Perfectly soft sand, no debris, no jellyfish. Not a lot to do but enjoy the beach. $10 parking fee. Umbrella and chair rental is available for a fee.

So much to offer, and quieter than Myrtle Beach, or other beach towns like that. Take in the nature and discover Kiawah.

Kiawah Island is a private gated island that neighbors Seabrook Island... another private gated island. In between the gates/entrances for the two islands, you'll find Freshfields Village. Freshfields Village features a grocery store and deli, along with a shopping and restaurant district. We were not aware that both of the islands were gated, and therefore only residents or travelers who... More

The island is just stunning in every way!! We had no idea how private and quiet and just serene it was going to be!... More

This was our first trip to Kiawah after many friends have recommended visiting. We had a lovely time! There's something for everyone our children range in ages 10 to 13. We enjoyed biking around the island. I loved all of the nature and wildlife. Of course everybody enjoyed the beach! We were there early April and saw so many alligators... More

Kiawah is the only private island in the area. The beach is expansive and never gets too crowded. The grounds are wooded so it's like camping and going to the beach at the same time. There are also a ton of upscale options as far as dining goes.
