Description:

Once the home of the Kathy Ireland/Greens Competition Classic, Wachesaw...

Once the home of the Kathy Ireland/Greens Competition Classic, Wachesaw East was named the 2007 Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year by the Myrtle Beach Golf Course Owners Association. It has also recently received honors for its fairways, customer service and playability by national publications. In short, Wachesaw East is the complete package.

Utilizing five sets of distinct tees, the Clyde Johnston design plays anywhere from 6,933 yards down to 4,995. Regardless, the thought-provoking track was crafted to reward the patient, an approach that stick with players after wrapping up on the signature hole. The green of the par-4, 430-yard No. 18 bends slightly around a small pond, leaving most to consider it one of the course's most challenging holes.

Solid B+ golf course in myrtle beach. ..

Very good layout and greens roll true. Definitely worth the drive to Merrill'S Inlet. Have dinner at Flo's after golf. Best blackened fish on the beach. ..

This is a nicely located resort. However, it is clearly at least 20 years old (phase one) and has never been updated. The people are very friendly and helpful and I think the lack of updating is certainly on ownership which is why we didnt give them a hard time over it. I read the reviews after we booked (my... Though the course had some issues at the beginning of the year it has recovered wonderfully and is back to being a great course to play.

After a tough winter for area courses, Wachesaw East has recovered nicely over the summer thanks to a hard working maintenance staff and re-sodding a number of greens. The ball is rolling smoothly and the fairways are in very good condition on this beautiful track.

I played Wachesaw East Plantation golf course with 3 friends. We had a teriffic experience - greens were in good shape. I mentioned the greens because like other area courses the greens has some issues in the spring. Greens have recovered nicely. Very friendly staff We would play course again.

It poured the night before we played and I expected it to be Cart path only but it wasn't nor was it very wet which was great because it was hot, hot ,hot ! The course was in good shape and didn't have any problems with the pace which is my pet peeve .We had lunch at the Grill after... More

Our group played this course knowing the greens had issues in the spring. I can say it was not 100% but very close ! The course as a whole was much better than most of the other courses we played this week. It was a great layout ! Great Day!

Went this past week, and the conditions were terrible. When I mean terrible i literally mean, they were rebuilding the greens as we were playing. Good luck making a put on these greens. Littleraly the chunks of sod that were just thrown down. Golfed with a group and we made it a joke where you got one club length "yes... More

Thank you for your review. In early July, we had to finish sodding edges of four greens. I would estimate that the sod covered less than 20% of the surface area of these greens. The remaining 80% of the surface and the rest of the greens on the golf course were in great shape when you played. Today, we have... More

P. T. Barnum is alive & we'll and operating the Waccesaw a East Plantation Golf Course. I know. I am one of the suckers. The circus starts with the sign advertising Golf Course of the Year 2007. Reality Check: it is 2016. Take down the sign and put one up depicting the horrific course conditions. The fairways were a saturated,... More
