Description:

Once the home of the Kathy Ireland/Greens Competition Classic, Wachesaw...

Once the home of the Kathy Ireland/Greens Competition Classic, Wachesaw East was named the 2007 Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year by the Myrtle Beach Golf Course Owners Association. It has also recently received honors for its fairways, customer service and playability by national publications. In short, Wachesaw East is the complete package.

Utilizing five sets of distinct tees, the Clyde Johnston design plays anywhere from 6,933 yards down to 4,995. Regardless, the thought-provoking track was crafted to reward the patient, an approach that stick with players after wrapping up on the signature hole. The green of the par-4, 430-yard No. 18 bends slightly around a small pond, leaving most to consider it one of the course's most challenging holes.

P. T. Barnum is alive & we'll and operating the Waccesaw a East Plantation Golf Course. I know. I am one of the suckers. The circus starts with the sign advertising Golf Course of the Year 2007. Reality Check: it is 2016. Take down the sign and put one up depicting the horrific course conditions. The fairways were a saturated,... More

Love the beautiful homes and especially Kimbles on the bluff over looking the Waccamaw river!!!! There are some historical graves and remains of old buildings that have been lovingly maintained. Such history in all of the Murrells Inlet area.

Stay away...8 of us fly 600 miles to play and we get there and immediately get 8 rain checks because 9 greens are unplayable...it was more like 12...when we get in I ask for our money back saying we do not want rain checks. Why were we not notified ahead of time...this was booked in December??? They refused to give... More

Golf course was very picturesque. Course had a problem with a fungus after all the rains this past fall,so about half of the greens were in really rough shape. First time playing here on Mother's Day, we were paired up with an elderly gentleman who was a member, couldn't have been nice. We would definitely give the course another try... More

This is a very nice course in a nice location and typically inexpensive however this winter many, many course were hit by a fungus and Washesaw was one of them. I would definitely suggest playing the course but only if you ask the pro how the greens are and if they have come back from the winter fungus.

Played one of my favorite courses, that usually have great greens. Only to end up playing on greens that were mostly dirt, and no grass. Stopped by the pro shop after the 1st nine holes, and inquired about the condition, and was told it was a bad winter. I wish I was told about them ahead of time, because I... More

It was a nice challenging course but the greens were terrible. And to say terrible is an understatement. We booked online and paid rather high greens fees without being told the greens were in such bad shape. You would think they would let you know or at least cut the fees. Would not recommend this course until they repair the... More

Played here yesterday and wasn't told on the phone when I made the reservation that 8 greens had been damaged by the rains. After we had each paid the greens fee of $48.18 we were told about the greens rolling true, even though there covered with sand that is apparently rolled each morning, but after people walk on the green... Thank you for your recent review and feedback. We have made considerable effort to communicate to guests that we have had transition issues with eight of our greens. I apologize that we inadvertently missed communicating that information with you. As you noted, we do have a pleasant professional staff and they work very hard to satisfy our guests. With their... Don't bother playing this one.the course is terrible.80% of the greens have no grass on them and have been painted.the fairways and tee blocks were fine.at a $37.50 green fee was to much.the layout of the course is a good challenge so hopefully the can get the problem fixed for next year

Painted greens! Need I say anything more? The fairways were fine but the majority of the greens were gone completely and had been painted! Just plain awful and we were glad we had discount cards because even paying $37 was too much for the condition of the greens! :(
