This is a beautiful beach, usually uncrowded but the lower end doesn't have a lifeguard which is okay except when sharks are around. We like to walk the beach down to the breakwater. there are trails if you like to take walks. When the weather...More

Beautiful park with much to do for everyone. Nice short trails, lots of birdlife, beautiful clean beaches, clean bathrooms and nice picnic area. You have to bring your own food - the store is focused on campers

Enjoying some great fall beach days in one of our favorite campgrounds. They have renovated the showers since we were here last in 2015. Wide, firm sand beach, nice campsites, hookups, park store gift shop & great location close to great restaurants in Murrell's Inlet....More

Disappointed when we went to the park at end of October, only to find out Atalaya Castle was closed because it was being set up for a Haunted House. However, Nature Walks were very nice and got to see an alligator up close.

Loved touring the Atalaya castle, so unique with great history, awesome architecture and close walk to the clean safe beachfront. Also walked marsh walkways observed many types of shore birds, herons and alligators. Not much traffic so quiet and peaceful place, felt very relaxed here,...More

Had an enjoyable day as usual. Saw lots of alligators. Long walk on the beach was very relaxing. New concrete walkway to the beach is a great plus. Relaxing and enjoyble.

This lovely beach is perfect for those who do not need shops or restaurants. The beach area is large, generally uncrowded, and has white sand. It is perhaps the nicest swimming beach I have ever visited on the U.S. east coast. The gentle slope of...More

The castle is empty now, though it's still structurally nice and the courtyard is beautiful. The audio tour is pretty good. $5 for entry and audio, it's worth it. The beach (if you want that) was beautiful, and near empty in October. If you're searching...More

No camping on the beach but the sites are under a 1/2 mile to the ocean. Enjoy.

According to the park rangers they are separate from the guests in the marshland. We were worried about that too but never seen one on the beach. The beach is like a mile from the marshland separated by a strip of land. I... More
