This lovely beach is perfect for those who do not need shops or restaurants. The beach area is large, generally uncrowded, and has white sand. It is perhaps the nicest swimming beach I have ever visited on the U.S. east coast. The gentle slope of...More

The castle is empty now, though it's still structurally nice and the courtyard is beautiful. The audio tour is pretty good. $5 for entry and audio, it's worth it. The beach (if you want that) was beautiful, and near empty in October. If you're searching...More

We stumbled upon this place and are so glad we did! Touring the Atalaya was absolutely amazing. I cannot imagine what it was like in its prime. The beach is so clean and there are showers and clean restrooms close by. Loved our day visit...More

Although it's not a big park, it has all the beach front you need without paying the exorbitant beach side parking prices in Myrtle Beach. The Huntington's castle was worth the nominal fee. Interesting to imagine living here.

We camped at this Park for years but now we simply visit it when we want to relax at the beach and soak up the views of nature instead of condos!

According to the park rangers they are separate from the guests in the marshland. We were worried about that too but never seen one on the beach. The beach is like a mile from the marshland separated by a strip of land. I... More
