If you only see one show... this is the one! "Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach" according to CNBC! The Carolina Opry has won every major South Carolina tourism award including Most Outstanding Attraction and the prestigious Governor's Cup. And it's the only show that has been featured on NBC Nightly News, CNN, TNN, and USA Today, which called it "A Big Hit". The New York Post called it "A Hot Ticket".Entertainer and entrepreneur Calvin Gilmore launched The Carolina Opry on South Carolina's Grand Strand in 1986. His live music variety show features a cast of 36 of the nation's top singers, dancers, comedians and musicians in its own 2200-seat show palace with state-of-the-art sound and lighting and three giant video screens. The show, which is continually updated with new music and comedy, is two hours of high energy entertainment that blends humor and dancing with everything from rock 'n roll, Broadway and country to classic hits, pop melodies and gospel.Young and old are counted among its fans who are sure to include a performance in their visit to Myrtle Beach. In November and December the theater is transformed into a winter wonderland where the magic of the season comes alive in The Carolina Opry Christmas Special a wonderfully dazzling, jolly and sentimental musical celebration of America's best-loved holiday..

We see a show at the Carolina Opry every time we are in Myrtle Beach and have yet to see anything we did not thoroughly enjoy. Many of the same entertainers are there year after year. The two comedians are really good. We did miss one of the female entertainers this year - Rita Gumm. I hope she is still... More

The show is fun, the Opry Dancers are very good, most of the singers were phenomenal. America's Got Talent contestants All That recently joined the show and are amazing at what they do. The show is mostly just covers of Country songs and girls dancing. there are a few comedy bits added in. Although it is just cover songs the... More

We visited the carolina opry with my entire extended family. The place is nice, the show was nice and professional. I have only one complaint. The show was a religious musical. No where was there a mention of this. I have no problem with religion but we weren't there for church hymns. It was disappointing and we left at intermission.... More

I took my 80 year old mother, a die-hard country fan. She was disappointed in the first half of the show, where she recognized only ONE song, and it was not even country (Save the Last Dance for Me). However, the 2nd half was better, with a salute to traditional country (George Jones, Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, etc.)... More

The Carolina opry had a lot of talent but was overrated..they had great talent but lacked the entertainment wow factor.. If it were not for the comedian and the All That tap dancers, it was lacking .

Coming to myrtle beach every year and going to a different show means having to see the same ones over again. This was our fourth visit to this show and we were glad to see it has been updated with younger stars. All that ! Was great. Brad long was very good! Kim Shurbut was funny as ever. Keep up... More

We went to see the show Good Vibrations. It's music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. It was fantastic. To save some money, opt for the budget tickets. The seats are decent and you save a good bit of money.

Wow! If you like blue grass, country, & western music - dancing, laughing and kickin' up your heels then this is the place for you. I got to say it was one of the best shows that I've been to in years. Next to the Grand Old Opry, The Carolina Opry ranks right up there with the music, fun, dancing,... More
