This will take as much or as little time as you want it to. It is certainly affordable, at only $6 for adults and kids are free. Besides the impeccably restored engines on display, there are several interactive exhibits, including a simulator ride that sits you in the cab of a real fire engine. Conveniently located near the Convention Center... More

We went with 2 of our boys and all of us had a fun visit! 12 and under are free so we only needed to pay for 2 adults and it was inexpensive. The facility is very nice and fresh looking. The large collection of antique fire trucks is impressive. The fire trucks are in mint condition and the attention... More

We were looking for something to do with two toddlers. I wouldn't say this was ideal but it did amuse them and us adults got to walk around a bit. If you're REALLY into fire truck history, you'll love this place

The go-to answers, at least when I was growing up, was astronaut and fireman. Anyone who was ever a kid will love this Museum. And the kids that I saw here were going nuts for this place. My wife was in a seminar at the Charleston Conference Center for a couple of days and this museum is just up the... More

5 adults visiting from the Midwest and we were all impressed. If you have kids they will certainly enjoy it also.

This small museum is situated at the entrance to the Tanger outlet mall and shares its building with the N. Charleston Visitors Center (where you can take the super-convenient shuttle to downtown). This place is quite close to the Convention Center too. So many fire engines of so many eras, with good descriptive panels to enjoy or not, depending on... More

Great fun for little kids, older than 5 maybe not as much fun but still interesting! If you are at the tanger or sams club it's a great way to kill a hour or so and learn some great facts about the fire department, and the old fire trucks are neat to look at.

This museum is good for kids. They have an amazing collection of fire trucks of various vintages, all in great condition. (Coincidentally, they all seemed to be American LaFrance vehicles.) There are a number of educational activities. There is even a small play area in the middle with a slide and a kid-sized fire pole. The staff was very friendly... More

The Firetruck Museum is a great place to spend a hot day. My kids are a little young, so they weren't as interested in the information available, but they did enjoy looking at the firetrucks and the playground. We will definitely go back more often when they are older.
