Carolina native, Davis Love III embraces a tradition of Lowcountry character in his latest design. The Love course incorporates the recreated ruins of an old plantation home along holes 3-7. Wide open fairways and generous landing areas set the stage for an unforgettable round of golf. The Love Course at Barefoot Resort is a traditional course with a Lowcountry character and incorporates Davis Love, III's Carolina golfing experiences in the design. This visually striking course features course generous landing areas and greens complexes similar to those found on Pinehurst #2 at the 1999 U.S. Open. The Love Course is a Par 72 and plays over 7,000 yards. The course will challenge the good player, yet provide playability and enjoyment for the average player.Tee and fairways consist of GN-1, which is a hybrid turf developed by Greg Norman Turf. The approach areas consist of Tif-sport Bermuda grass. The greens surfaces are newly acquired Champion UltraDwarf and the rough areas are 419 Bermuda grass.

The course was in great shape but the greens were not in the best shape. Summertime in Myrtle Beach can stress them out. Great layout with the ability to drive the ball in spacious fairways. Guys at the bag drop off were quick and helpful.

Course was in great shape , very playable for any handicap , restaurant inside was to busy to make any food in a timely manner between rounds so had to eat outside which turned out ok. Would definitely put this one any list to play.

The accommodations were great. Large bedrooms and large kitchen and living rooms. The golf courses very very good, however staff needs to be a little more organized. I would highly recommend this venue for a buddy trip.

What I said about Fazio is true here, too. Very good on-site restaurant. Very well manicured facilities and grounds. The Love course is more forgiving than is Fazio. In great shape, too. My group always enjoys the Barefoot courses, and we've played them several times....More

Played a nice quick round with my 18 year old son on a Tuesday. Good layout and course in very good shape. Holes were diverse. Pretty wide fairways, but need to have accuracy with irons to score. Not easy to get up and down if...More

The pace of play was very slow and the group behind us kept hitting into us. There was also too many cigarette butts all around, even on the green. Most of the people were friendly.

Played this one in July. It was cart path only the day we played so greens were a touch slow. This course is beautiful with lots of well placed landscapes.
