After arriving I entered into the woodland preserve, and meandered down the paved paths into another world. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming, and often you could hear the rushing water of the mini waterfalls along the way. I casually walked and took a bunch of pictures of the beautiful scenery. The only reminder that you were still in the... More

Beautiful 10 acres of woodland gardens, streams, ponds, and little waterfalls. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through this little jewel. When inside the garden it is easy to forget that you are in a busy city. Surprisingly there is no admission cost and apparently volunteers help tend the garden. There is a donation box and I would encourage putting in a... More

You leave the parking area and building with restrooms and meander down paved paths into a nicely landscaped garden. There are streams, pagodas, bridges and gardens that make for a pleasant walk. I had a nice hour plus meeting with a friend walking around the place and, though we did retrace our steps a few times, it was a great... More

Such a nice and calming walk through these gardens. Until kids started screaming and running by out of control. I don't understand why parents bring children to places like this and not a playground. Nice trails and water features throughout

This gem is just outside of downtown, but you feel like you are hundreds of miles away in the woods. It is lovely any time of year. Easy walking paths are paved. There are small pools and even a waterfall.

Hatched Garden honors a transplanted Yankee's devotion to making Spartanburg beautiful after he retired here 20plus years ago. Stroll through the gardens Mr Hatcher developed with his own labor. The Men's Club has wonderful sales of botanicals every year.

These gardens are a lovely bright spot right by town. There are several acres through which to leisurely stroll on paved paths. Strollers and wheelchairs can come along, but it is not flat ground. Several benches are placed along the path, and there are lovely viewing areas to rest of enjoy a light picnic.

On this warm day in late Feb. with all the trees starting to come back alive, I decided to get out my camera and get out and enjoy the Hatcher Gardens. Located only a few minutes from downtown, this place is wonderful place to getaway and escape. It is 10 acres of pure bliss and just gorgeous. First you should... More

We came here for a nice walk as part of one of the county's geocaching tours. It was a nice walk down to the amphitheater and there was a nice pond with a wooden overlook. I really felt like I left the city coming here. I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for the tour.

Hatcher's garden is an oasis from the steady traffic on John B White Sr. Blvd. This place has just kept on improving over the years, largely due to the dedication of a full time staff. A lot of work has gone into making Hatcher's a pleasant place for a peaceful stroll, picnic, or wedding. The efforts have paid off. Hatcher's... More
