This was an interesting place for the history of the area. I did not love the super narrow corridors in the fort. The exhibits in the Visitor Center are very well done.

Visitors center portrays comprehensive overview of the history from the beginnings through to WW2. The grounds and buildings are well kept and the command center is very interesting as are all the buildings.

This easily accessible fort has a very interesting history from the Revolutionary War to Civil War and on to WWII. Who knew? The Park Service does an excellent job here and has a very appealing visitor center and book store.

Fort Moultrie is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The small indoor museum is packed with explanatory signage and artifacts. The 22-minute film, shown every hour, is dated but informative.

If you are taking your own boat then it shouldn't be a problem, the issue you may have is if you take the harbor boat over. It is more thane a 2 hour boat ride round trip and even though the dog would be allowed on the fort... More
