I didn't know how tea was produced and visiting Charleston Tea Plantation was great fun. There was a short movie and the factory tour was both interesting and fun. All aspects of tea production were explained and you can drink all the hot and cold tea you want. You can also take a trolley ride through the fields but, unfortunately,... More

We drove out from Charleston. Not a very long drive. There's a visitor's center and gift shop. They offer a trolley tour around the plantation (very bumpy!). Interesting to learn about how tea is grown and harvested. One stop at the green house. Also an automated tour in the factory. The tea is good and flavorful; they offer hot and... More

The only tea plantation in North America. Slow trolley ride around the property that is very informative and allows you to take in the beauty.

Did not know that the Charleston Tea Plantation was the only place where Tea was grown in the USA besides Hawaii. Very informative and friendly staff to help educate one on tea. Well worth the visit to off beat place with significant history. Highly recommend the bus tour around the plantation.

I would of never heard of this place except for hearing a guy talk about it on the trolley ride. It is free unless you want ti take the trolley ride through the tea fields which I recommend. also tour the factory. best time is after the beginning of may when they are harvesting the leaves

The only tea plantation in North America and if you are visiting Charleston, or just live close by, this is well worth the trip. Most of the attraction is no cost that includes a factory tours and large gift shop. You can walk around the grounds and see the tea plants, but it is well worth spending the time and... More

We drove from Edisto Beach to check out The Charleston Tea Plantation and was not disappointed. This is a must do activity when anywhere near the Charleston area. Learned all about tea leaf growing and the production of tea, had free all you can drink tea samples, and took the $10 trolley tour. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, plantation is... More

Loved this visit. Got a tour of the factory for free. $10 for a trolley tour. Learned loads about tea. Shop had "all you can eat" tea samples hot and cold. Just wish there was more interaction or hands on aspect to this. Like even touching a tea leaf. Maybe even something to attract families with kids - a small... More
