I did not bring the kids for this and I was glad. Lots of breakables but, boy, were there beautiful things here. And there was such an incredible assortment of art: clothes, wall hangings, lotion, stained glass, books, pottery, carved wood, furniture and even more. It's in a beautiful old house with a great front porch filled with the requisite... More

Painting, ceramics, quilts, woodworking, Sculture, and more, this Artisan Center has it all. All high-quality and thoughtfully displayed. Don't forget to look up when you enter to see the canoe hanging from the ceiling. It alone is worth the trip

There is a huge amount of SC art, both two and three dimensional in this old house. Definitely worth a visit.

By all means pop in here if you have time to kill but in my opinion the place's name is misleading. It's more "Kiss Me Quick Seaside Souvenir" than a venue to showcase the creative talent and local culture. Too many quirky pottery mugs and bowls, tacky bead jewellery and apparently talentless acrylic paintings of sea birds. The few bits... More

"Discovered" the artisan center on one of our trips south - The Center represents numerous artists and crafts people in the SC area - The work is superb and varied - From photos and paintings to glass work, pottery and woodcraft - Jewelry and weavings and even a handcrafted wooden canoe - It truly displays the talent of these local... If you're ever near Walterboro, you must stop at the Artisans Center. It's filled with wonderful handmade from the areas and lovely gifts for you or a friend. Just to walk around and browse is fun.

Beautiful building with a nice variety of artists. Be sure to look for the handmade canoe and the face jug mugs.

You will be amazed by the craftmanship of the pieces in the center. B sude to look at the jams, jelly, and other food items also available.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. The center is located in an old house. Types of art include painting, photos, jewelry, pottery, sweet grass baskets, stained glass. Most had a coastal theme, a few mountain-y pieces. Employees says artists are juried every October so that new pieces could potentially be available after the second week of October annually.
