The mission of Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation is to protect and preserve the culture, tradition and living heritage of the North American Indians. The Foundation demonstrates its commitment to this endeavor by continuing the progress on the world's largest sculptural undertaking by carving a memorial of Lakota leader Crazy Horse; by providing educational and cultural programming; by acting as a repository for American Indian artifacts, arts and crafts through the INDIAN MUSEUM OF NORTH AMERICA(R) and the NATIVE AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL & CULTURAL CENTER(R); and by establishing and operating the INDIAN UNIVERSITY OF NORTH AMERICA(R) and, when practical, a medical training center for American Indians.

Wonderful museum dedicated to the Lakota Tribe has been 40 years in the works. Film presentation (must see) shares the dedication of the Korcsak Ziolkowski family in chiseling the monument of Crazy Horse, which is huge. They estimate it may take many years to complete...More

We visited Crazy Horse for the second time this past weekend but this time was way more rewarding than the last. We were able to take a van to the "top" of the memorial and have our questions answered, by our guide, Matt. He was...More

Interesting carving, but can't get close enough for a good viewing unless you have significant money. Not very impressed with the light show. Nice gift shop and information building. Ate at the restaurant on site. It was very nice. Hostess seating was a little slow;...More

Worth seeing but because construction is going on, you can't walk up by the face anymore. The park entrance is pretty pricey, especially with a family of four. You can see it from the road and that's really all you need to see.

An amazing experience. We had no idea of the size of this monument. Take the bus ride to the mountain, you are about a mile closer than from the gift shop. Huge native displays, a very informative film about the beginning of the project, and...More

I wish I had read the reviews before I went. While it was only $11 for me to get in since I was we by myself it still wasn't worth the time. It's like paying to get into a gift shop. A gift shop where...More

It's HUGE! That's about it. The first time I saw Crazy Horse was in 1988. The last time I saw it was last June(2017). Nearly 30 years later and I can't see any progress. Beyond its size, it's underwhelming. If you have the extra cash...More

This was a fantastic place to visit. The scale is unbelievable and is an enormous undertaking. I can only liken it to watching the pyramids being constructed! A place you can visit throughout your life to see it develop !

Facility was excellent. Unfortunately the weather was not. Never got to actually see the memorial, clouds never moved away. Watched a film about it, saw the various museums and shops, but did not actually view the mountain.

Saw a story about this project on 60 minutes years ago and decided to stop by last minute. Only the face, part of the arm and the keyhole are completed. Kind of a ripoff. Sad to see this beautiful mountain blasted apart . Read up...More

Yes the fee is 28.00 dollars a car load . It's not a state park as a signed treaty wrote they would never take money from the government . We spent a few hours looking around . Hope this helps
