I gave the review an average only because it was not open for the season when we were driving through. We drove down the dirt roads just to check it out so we could only see what we could see from the entrance. It looks like it would be a cool place for a road pit stop - just to... More

Stopped by the sculpture park on our drive from Sioux Falls to Rapid City. Such a fun and interesting place. We were fortunate to meet the artist, Wayne, while there. Super nice guy! Don't pass this place by...it's one of the most unique places I've visited. Well worth the admission :)

We happened on this park and were lucky to be there by our selves. This was a highlight of our trip. We love crazy sculpture and this park has lots of them. Some have accompanying poems that are hilarious. cost was $7 or 8pp

My first hint that there was something unusual in that South Dakota field was seeing the tips of giant horns rising above a small ridge. It took some effort to figure out how to reach the huge sculpture garden but it was well worth it. There is real talent on display here along with insightful wit and unusual skill. Textbook... More

Totally unique and beautiful stop on the way to Mount Rushmore. Very talented artist and a really kind and personable guy. One of the best things I have had the pleasure of running into on my travels. This is the type of thing that makes the world a more beautiful place. Fascinating

We stopped here in early June on our way to Deadwood. The statues are truly unique, each with its own story and/or poem. The way they stand out against the big sky of South Dakota makes them even more memorable. We were lucky enough to meet Mr. Porter while we were there. Interesting and extremely friendly guy.

We saw the huge bullhead from the freeway so we stopped in. It costs $8 per person and takes 20 minutes to see everything. The sculptor was a nice guy. He is definitely talented but he is odd. The sculptures are not kid friendly. They are slightly twisted.

Nice break on the way West. Admission was $8 per adult. If you have an hour its a good way to stretch your legs.

After reading the reviews about this place, I was determined to make the family stop here on our way to the Black Hills. We were not disappointed! You can catch a glimpse of the sculptures from the interstate, but it's not until you are up close that you see and appreciate the detail and artistry of each one. It took... More
