The old courthouse museum was a nice stop. We spent about an hour here but depending on your interest you could have spent up to about 2 hours I would estimate. It is wheel chair friendly. It had some great history of Sioux Falls. The architecture was beautiful! It is free but a donation is suggested. There is also a... More

I enjoy this for the historical exhibits that are there, and I especially enjoy coming on the days/nights that special speakers or things like the bagpipes are playing. I would like to see more spots where chairs or benches could be set up between exhibits as I walk with a cane and would like more flexibility in how far I... More

Changing exhibits through out the year. Local and State History, along with item specific displays, i.e. winter coats from past ages, bicycles from earlier years, etc.

Pretty cool that they have maintained the old courthouse for folks to see how it was back then. It is a wee bit musty smelling but they have some hands-on activities for the kids that will make you forget about that musty smell.

We enjoyed this museum as it gave us insight into South Dakota's history. At noon in the courthouse we enjoyed a reading of A Christmas Carol accompanied by great chamber music. Do enjoy when you go.

We toured the Old Courhouse Museum, there is a lot of local history there and definitely worth the time to check out all the exhibits. The tour is free and the museum employees are very friendly and knowlegeable.

I understand it was built by the one architect they brag about around here, a certain Wallace Leroy Dow who was born in New Hampshire and who built basically everything they talk about in Sioux Falls: the Courthouse, the Jail, the house that Mr. Pettigrew purchased later etc etc. Lots of stone, ok. But not much of architectural interest inside.... More

Well restored and interesting exhibits. Go to the second floor to see the actual old courthouse. Also, some good photo ops throughout the building.
