Beautiful drive. We stopped at Bridal Veil Falls, and though there wasn't much water flowing at the time, still a pretty view. We didn't make any other stops...just enjoyed the views while driving!

This drive is a must do if you are in the area. There are 3 waterfalls along the drive. Two of them require short walks that are worth your effort. Two of the falls are located close to the Lodge area. I would suggest this...More

This is a very nice drive. Take your time going through here. The route is on the valley floor so as a driver it is easier to enjoy the views.

The drive up the canyon is wonderful indeed! The scenes all along the road on both sides of the car will leave you feeing happy to be alive. We were here in mid-September and the leaves were already about 20% changed into their autumn display....More

We went through the canyon as part of the scenic route detour from Rapid City to Hill City (I-90 W, US 14 ALT E, US-85 S, US-385 S) and it was an excellent choice. Unlike many drives near canyons where the road is located along...More

We drove this on our way from Rapid City to Spearfish and it was so much better than taking I-90. Take the very short side trip to see the falls. About a mile off the parkway.

Happened upon the canyon road and was very pleased with the beauty and wide lane road. There is a lodge about ten miles up the canyon along with a nice looking restaurant.

nice place to take a drive. It would be beautiful in the fall. Many place to pull over and take pictures or picnic at.

Fall is the best time to take a canyon drive. The glorious gold of aspens offset by evergreens is gorgeous. But even in summer or spring, the canyon is a must-see if you're in Spearfish.

Absolutely! Because this is a popular area for tourists, the roads are wide enough to accommodate a large size RV, even on the curves.

No worries. The road is on the bottom of the canyon with beautiful walls on each side of the road. No scary drop-offs.
