There are graves here of Union personnel that died in the War of Northern Aggression. There are thousands of graves here of all service personnel and this is a very large property.

I've never been to a national cemetery before so my husband took me here to see it. Pictures don't do justice at all! Many of the headstones were decorated with Christmas wreaths. The groundskeeper does an impeccable job.

It's always sobering to visit one of our National Cemeteries and be reminded of the price paid to maintain our freedoms. This is the first National Cemetery to be created. Located on the outskirts of Chattanooga, it's a fitting place to visit after seeing the...More

This is a beautiful cemetery on the edge of downtown Chattanooga. The grounds are well kept and clean. The cemetery itself sprawls over and around the hilltop and down each side to the access roads.

How can anyone not want to visit this sacred place of remembrance. It's the second largest national cemetery and simply beautiful, restful, and a solemn place to remember those who have sacrificed for our country.

Stunning views and maintained beautifully by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The American Flag waving with a smaller POW/MIA next to it was stirring.
