Built in 1929, The Factory occupies the buildings that once served as the Dortch Stove Works, Magic Chef and later the Jamison Bedding Company. A member of the National Register of Historic Places, The Factory is rich with history and a very careful renovation has preserved many of The Factory's original features and architectural details. Calvin bought the sprawling complex seven years ago and, after an environmental clean-up, began opening the facility in sections. Today, The Factory at Franklin has 83 tenants. Imagine that factory coming alive with concerts, dining, shopping, meetings, live theatre, art galleries, decorators' showcases, antiques and offices. Our unique facility can serve all this and more. Take a look at The Factory in its days as a bustling, working factory, then embark on a photographic tour of its renovation and transformation to the diverse and vibrant shopping and entertainment complex it is today.

Interesting place to visit and walk around. I've been there a couple times to attend the Music City Roots show on Wednesday evenings. I'm not a shopper so visiting the stores holds little appeal but it was entertaining to see the old factory and how it's been renovated to its current use.

Place is interesting to walk around. Lots of shops and places to eat. I will return again. Parking can be challenging during peak hours.

This place has an assortment of cool shops and boutiques, bakery, coffee shops and the boutiques and artisan shops are incredible. One-of-a-kind. You could spend all day here.

We spent a rainy Saturday morning here. The weather prevented us from enjoying the farmers market that was set up outside, but it was quite large and looked like it was popular with the locals. We browsed a couple of the buildings that make up the Factory. It appeared to be heavy on antique stores, but that was fun. There... More

I love the vibe at this place, and the indie style of shops available. I got a pressed juice whilst here which was very expensive for what it was, but tasty! Good places to sit and nice background music.

I love the Factory and its boutique-style shops. This is not a typical mall and it is such a fun place to shop in downtown Franklin. It was a factory many years ago so it provides a unique and fun shopping atmosphere. Now it hosts shops and restaurants and is also a music venue. Unfortunately, I've never eaten here or... More

This building was an old factory back in the day. It's very old with high ceilings and concrete floors and is a great p,ace to spend the morning having coffee, shopping in the boutique type stores and then having lunch. There are several restaurants and great shops. It's a great place to go any day but a really fun place... More
