Very cool to go inside it’s bigger inside than it looks outside. Friendly tour guide. Neat stuff in there. Some original and others from that era.

What a neat mansion! This house was built in the late 1860s and has a majority of the structure original, even one whole room to include the wallpaper! Lots of cool antiques abound! There is parking on the grounds with tours starting at the top of each hour - I recommend checking the website before going - at $10 a person. Well worth it.

I grew up just down the road in Morristown and knew where the Glenmore Mansion was located. However, I am ashamed to say I did not tour this beautiful place until I was well into my adulthood. The staff provided a great tour of this historic mansion. It was an outstanding learning experience. As we walked the halls and stairwells, I tried to imagine myself back in the late 1800's living in this spacious homestead. Glenmore had a large part in the history of the railroad in East Tennessee. I am fascinated with local history in and around my hometown and this tour only peaked my curiosity to learn more about this estate. During a visit with my family a few weeks later, I could not quit talking about our afternoon at Glenmore Mansion.

Center hall Victorian rich in history. Informative guides make you feel how it was like to live 150 years ago, surrounded by original furnishings.

This is worth a visit if you are interested in East Tennessee history. Docents that lead tour were very knowledgeable. Gave great insight on how the mansion came to be and history. I believe it is celebrating it's 150th birthday this year. Enjoyed seeing the furnishings. Some restoration work is still needed but is seems to be an ongoing project. I attended an event that was being held there. We enjoyed a delightful lunch along with tour and history lesson. This is certainly a gem and true slice of history in Jefferson City.

We took a candlelight tour of the mansion at Christmas time. It was decorated as it would have been during the time the Branner's lived there. It is a beautiful home and interesting that only two families have live in it.

The home has a lot of history and interesting antiques. Shows how people lived over a hundred years ago. Provided you had money. It's not easy to navigate if you are disabled. Parking lot needs improvement and better signs. You can tell this place runs on donations and fund raisers.

Visited this wonderful home during the candlelight Christmas tours. Beautifully decorated, well preserved with a number of original pieces, and filled with collected genuine pieces from the period. Amazing only two families have owned such an old and valued property. It was very kind they turned it over to the preservation society a few decades ago. A few items of interest: the original wood trim from Baltimore around a number of windows, doors and stairs, walk through windows on the second floor, original wall and ceiling paper in a few rooms, a very old high end piano, and the exposed framing in the attic (which is held together with wooden pegs).
