Ijams Nature Center is a 300-acre urban greenspace, where people of all ages can hike, bike, learn, explore, or simply enjoy nature in Knoxville, TN. THE GROUNDS AND TRAILS ARE OPEN EVERY DAY FROM 8:00 AM UNTIL DUSK. The Visitor Center, including exhibits, gift shop, offices and restrooms are open during the following times: Regular Visitor Center hours: Monday – Saturday: 9 am to 5 pm Sunday: 11 am to 5 pm Admission: Free. However, we will gladly accept and be grateful for cash donations, especially in U.S. currency. Seriously though, Ijams is a nonprofit organization, supported in part by the City of Knoxville, grants, program fees and the generosity of its members and visitors. If you enjoy your visit please support us. Ijams is Dog Friendly! By all means bring your favorite pooch. There is even a Pet Welcome Station near the Visitor Center, including leash holders and a doggy water fountain. For everyone’s enjoyment, we just ask that all pets keep their owners leashed at all times. Due to state and federal regulations that allow us to care for our exhibit hall creatures, pets are not allowed in the Visitor Center. Restrooms: Restrooms are available in the Ijams Visitor Center during normal operating hours and at the Ijams Homesite and the quarry from 8:00 am until park closure. Established in 1910 by the Ijams family for bird-watchers and nature-lovers, Ijams Nature Center has been ranked one of Knoxville's top three attractions by TripAdvisor, winning the 2013 Certificate of Excellence as well. Ijams Nature Center is a member and visitor-supported nonprofit organization. Your generous support is needed to continue the ongoing legacy for generations to come!

They have an assortment of hiking trails and a pleasant visitor's center to expand your visit. It is inspiring to see what one family can preserve for all of us to enjoy.

It has grown and has things for the whole family now. But I still go there just to relax and unwind. Great for a walk or bike ride.

They've done really good job of providing something for everyone at this nature center. A lot of picnic areas and other places for family gatherings and business event. It is a little bit dated but that you shows it being used.

Took a nice walk here last day of my trip. Easy drive from town. You can walk trails or rent a bike for others. No fee for parking or to walk.

Easily found parking and there were clean restrooms nearby. Found a clearing for a picnic lunch and then lots of shades walking trails afterwards.
