I'm from New Zealand so don't know too much about East and West Tennessee history, I found myself at the East Tennessee History Center and thought they did a good job of telling their history in a respectful but factual way.

Did not know what to expect, but was met by a really friendly Museum Curator the museum itself was great but the highlight was seeing Davy Crockets Rifle. A pleasant afternoon.

A really nice museum that teaches you a lot about the history of East Tennessee. The exhibits are well maintained and very informative. It's a lot of information to take in at once so we will certainly go back for another visit to learn more....More

Came in late and they let me in free. Caught the music exhibit and and TVA info. Great little museum and fun 50 minutes.

Genealogy buffs this is the place to go. Check out the rules before going. Be prepared to spend the day there : )

This museum is very well done in representing this beautiful part of Tennessee and its history. We thoroughly enjoyed the quilt exhibit that is currently on display. The museum flows nicely and offers many insights to the people and history of the area.

This is a MUST-SEE museum.....we were very impressed with the layout, organization, amount of info, videos, artifacts, jam-packed and so interesting. Because there is so much reading to do, I think this might be more geared towards teenagers but I am sure the little ones...More

Mountains. Lots and lots of mountains. Go hike or just drive but only do the inside stuff if it is bad weather.
