the breakwater is a busy place in the summer with no dogs allowed on the beach in the busy months . all year round you will find some one walking ,fishing along the break water ,weather permitting , always something too see ,fishing boats coming back in, speed boats , the ferry going across too torquay , or simply the... We visited here, late afternoon in January. We parked up & walked around the harbour, for over an hour. Extremely pretty, with all the little gardens made up along the wall. Not many shops open - it was late & out of season. But so much to see. We simply sat on a bench, eating lush fish & chips whilst... More

I love this place rain, shine, cold, hot, busy and quiet. The working harbour is fascinating, the Brixhamers are friendly, there is always something to look at and do and the fresh air is great. Parking can be a problem but as we visit our cottage mostly out of season, we generally find that parking in Furzeham (up the hill)... More

coming from Devon myself, we love Brixham, and visit regularly, bustling in the summer with lots of peolpe, good weather and always something happening on the water. great boat trips (cheap!). the best fish and chips anywhere! and nice little hidden places to eat. we are lucky we have friends and family living there still, but still enjoy visiting and... Park in Oxen Cove and walk to the Breakwater Beach. The Harbour area offers something for everyone. It has a wide variety of places to eat, drink, shop or just browse. One of the nicest Towns in the UK to stroll around. Crabbing on the quay is also a great way to spend some time.... Watch out for the seagulls... More

I had fish and chips at Rockfish in the harbour. Picturesque in the sun and at night and nice for a stroll. Many of the shops close at 3pm in the winter low season.

Visiting a friend in Brixham the harbour is truly beautiful! We had fish and chips by the harbour after wandering around the shops. Would recommend for a nice walk and to be by a beautiful harbour and fabulous fleets of boats.

It is only a working harbour with the golden hind and pubs that are just pubs. But there is something about Brixham. That I can't explain but once you catch it you can't get it out of your system.Perhaps it's the sea or the smells that get you,it's good whatever it is.

My goodness all you have to do is to wander back and forth. Not only is the boat area itself a delight but special attempts have been made to create set pieces along the shore. I have enclosed numerous photographs, I don't want to bore you to death but it really is worth the trip and just a hop skip... More
