Went to fill a few hours at the end of the day. Managed to catch the last guided tour of the house for 2016 I was not disappointed, a lovely lived in house in an enviable location. The tour guides were exceptional. Will go again to tour the gardens.

Came as part of a pre-booked group with a special lecture, so we got more than the standard tour. I enjoy these authentic, lived-in houses far more than the sterility of a polished timewarp. I can't say I remember much, a month on, about the collection itself but I found the Robert Adam library particularly interesting. Beautiful gardens and park... More

I enjoy visiting historical houses and this is worth a visit and the gardens are pleasant. The drawback was having to book in for a tour. The guides are excellent but you tend to get information overload and after the first 15 minutes I found it rather hard to take in. I like wandering round and taking in the atmosphere,... More

Arrived well in advance of next tour and managed a great walk around grounds. Actual tour around house was worthwhile and very interesting with excellent knowledgeable tour guides.

We went for a mini tour on the classic cars day. The house and grounds are beautiful and the tour guide excellent. Tea room in the orangery sells great carrot cake. Relaxing place to visit. Lots of ducks.

We arrived in time to book the 2.30 tour. We had a lovely lunch followed by a stroll round the lake. The highlight of the day was the tour of the house. The guides were very knowledgable and made the house itself a delight. We finished of our day with tea and cake. This is a visit not to missed... More

Arrived soon after opening at Noon. Used Historic Houses membership so "free" entry. House tour was well over 1 hour with lots of information and history about owners family line and English history 17th c onwards. Great collection of paintings furniture and porcelain described in detail. No real time to pause but understandable as a lived in house. Good lunches... More

As friends of HHA we like to visit properties when holidaying in different areas of the country. We went to Ugbrooke not having any expectations, but hoping it would be of interest. There are only about three tours of the house a day and no admittance unless on a tour. No need to book, but the times advertised on their... More

Lived in the area for a couple of years but only visited due to plans being disrupted by some iffy weather. Thanks iffy weather. Opted for house and Gardens ticket. £9.50. Well worth it for a house designed by Robert Adams and grounds by lancelot brown. Interesting tour with knowledgeable guides and plenty of information about the Clifford family who... More
