The Dartmoor Museum was interesting and good value. It’s an ideal place to visit on a rainy day. And there are quite a few rainy days on Dartmoor. They had some great items on display and the whole thing was well put together.

Well worth a visit and good value for the money. So much to see with all the exhibits, mobile phones smuggled in baked bean cans ,stories of prisoners who have tried to escape ,even the Kray Twins had a 'look in'.Yes thoroughly recommended.

Interesting place. It was my kids who were keen to visit. I wore a disguise just to be on the safe side ! It is still very much a working prison, holding over 600 men at present. Conditions are grim, but somewhat better than 100...More

We came on the bank holiday Monday, and really enjoyed our visit. It's a typical low budget museum, but I found it had charm. The exhibits were interesting and it was a good hour or so to cover it. Yes, I'd recommend it.

I’m think a cafe would totally spoil the experience as it about the hardest of prisons. Just go to the cafe down the road. Not hard !
