An easy, gentle 2.3 mile stroll from Exmouth along the eastern bank of the Exe Estuary, whose mudflats, sandbanks and marshes are of international importance for their wildlife, especially the tens of thousands of resident and migratory waterbirds. Look out for avocets, curlews and lapwings, even seals and otters, and buzzards wheeling overhead. Take time to explore Lympstone before catching the train back to Exmouth.

Easy walk with stunning scenery. A must if visiting Exmouth.

Being from Exmouth, this is one of my favourite walks and cycle ride. The Swan Inn is waiting for you in Lympstone for refreshing drink and food.

Level walk with good surface. If you have small children you need to be careful as some of the cyclists ride too fast. Nice pubs at Lympstone for a drink or lunch. Trains back to Exmouth every half an hour if you don't want to walk back.

Lovely views along the Exe. With a choice of cafes and pubs in Lympstone to have a drink or a meal. This is a very easy walk.

This is a fairly flat easy walk that can be strolled enjoying the views across the bay or stepped out for exercise. The path is shared with bikes but it is not a problem. The energetic can walk back along the same route while the rest of us can simply stroll through the village to the station and let the... More

A real fresh air experience. The Estuary with all its Birdlip is in view and as the path has been developed for walkers and cyclists you can stand to one side safely and watch the world go by. There are some benches for a rest if you need one, but the path is pretty flat.

We were staying at the Lympstone Manor and decided to do this on a glorious sunny day. It is truly stunning. People run cycle or stroll. It's great to see the stunning area, lovely wildlife and just being at one with nature.

Walked this with a few buggies in tow and had a lovely stroll. Just need to keep an ear out for cyclists who like to sneak up behind you.

This is a joint cycle and walk pathway it is busy, there are a lot of cyclists, but dont let it put you off. Leaving Exmouth you walk parallel with a railway line between you and the river Exe, you have opens views of the river and the glorious hills beyond. Take a camera or binoculars , there are many...
