Let's be fair. I am a local and a lot of the negatives I recognise. But what a location, fantastic. The new team are really trying. Food untried as yet but I know they are planning simple but quality and limited menu. Less is more as they say. We'll see hopefully. So far so very good. The fantastic views and... More

We arrived in Shaldon for a few days visit and decided to have our evening meal at the Ferry Boat Inn. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good choice, the meal was very average indeed. Our shared starter was Scallops in a garlic sauce, enough scallops for 2 to share, but taste wise the sauce was runny and not particularly tasty. Main... More

Have been visiting Teignmouth/Shaldon for many years. Have always popped into the Ferryboat for a drink and food. Our last visit however was very dissapointing. The lady behind the bar looked miserable, and when we asked about ordering food you could almost see her irratation at being asked. Several items were not available even though advertised. When the food arrived... More

Looking forward to meeting up with family and have a snack lunch. Meal took quite a while to arrive (no other people eating), when it did arrive there was no offer of condiments. We went into the pub ourself and there was nothing left, so asked the waiter when he delivered our final dish. We waited and waited, still nothing.... More

Used to be the place to go in Shaldon. Now just full of drunken loud louts, and kids smoking or taking strange substances. Gone down hill fast and a place to avoid, shockinh

We went in on the off chance we weren't sure when we sat downstairs but the staff said there were tables upstairs. The food was lovely and service was good.

I have just eaten here with my partner. He wanted gammon steak but they had none so he had spare ribs. These were excellent - great taste and a large portion. I had baked whole plaice which was awful. It was not hot enough, it was very wet and certainly did not smell fresh. Thank goodness for the chips which... More
