We walked to the swannery on a boiling hot day thinking it would cost about a fiver each to look at a few swans. There were 4 of us and we were all shocked at the price, £12.50 each, so 50 quid to get in!...More

So many cygnets, all gorgeous and fluffy. We made sure we were there for the swans noon feeding time which was pretty spectacular. After that we wandered around the paths taking in the views of the fleet and the gorgeous Dorset countryside. After reading other...More

Good to visit once, good half day outing for a family or adults only alike. Big interest is when swans are hatching and being fed

This attraction is very user friendly for all guests. The children can feed the swans at lunch and tea times. The best time to visit is late spring and early summer when the cygnets are around. It is set in magnificent scenery. There is a cafe...More

Beautiful scanners in its own natural environment, ideal for all ages, but very expensive. Once in a lifetime visit. Make sure you take a packed lunch with you and camera.

Easy to find amongst the gorgeous Dorset scenery. Turn in through an ancient village and you come to a wide valley behind the huge pebble ridge that runs for miles along the coast. Walk through woods beside streams with swans nesting right beside you then...More

We used the Tesco's clubcard vouchers to get "free" entry as I would be a bit reluctant to pay the full £12.50 entrance price each - that would be £50 for a family of four just to get in! This is a nice place though...More

It has been a nice trip out with the family today. Good weather certainly makes a difference as a wet day wouldn't have been so enjoyable! Swans were gorgeous and this time of year sees all the cygnets with their parents. Not a great deal...More

Unfortunately the weather was not very kind, but the experience was exillerating, I found it very interesting that you could see the whole process from egg to swan.

We visited in June so just as the signets were hatching and I've never seen so many swans in one place. Apparently the monks used to farm the birds for the table; glad to say that's no longer the case but the swans have kept...More

The other answers say it is not allowed and, frankly, one can see and understand why - the nesting Swans and their young are all over the place, roaming freely, even on the paths and walkways, and it would be best for the... More

The stretch of water between the swannery and chisel beach is home to other wading birds and geese. Amongst the swans we saw coot nesting (amazing to see a cot feeding her young only 1m from us!) and mallards etc. Not a bird... More
