New cinemas certainly have their place, but the originality of the Rex is something quite different. The vibrant colours, only one screen, the cafe downstairs, the old gas lamps and horsehair seats make this a unique experience as is finding your own seat. The Staff...More

A beautifully maintained old time cinema, but keeping up with latest films and good picture quality. This is definitely an experience coming here. The staff are friendly and care about the place, and the snack booth has a range of nibbles. My top tip however...More

wow want an old fashioned cinema evening out then go to the Rex its fab. friendly staff and has a bar so you can take your drink in to watch the film

Got to see a couple of the films during my stay, but unfortunately left as the Purbeck Film Festival started. Very friendly staff, comfortable seats and reasonably priced refreshments

an excellent self financing little cinema. an evening well spent, manned by volunteers £6.50 each to watch an up to the minute movie in a really friendly environment with a beer in one hand and an ice cream in the other with your loved one...More

Have to say we didnt get in...full, but looking around the place its something from the 60's. It only holds about a few dozen, at most, so book!! Shame we couldnt get in. Nice looking bar.

Hi We are showing Hacksaw Ridge until 16 February and then there is a matinee of La La Land on Friday, 17 Feb. We then close for the Rex Players show, reopening on Sunday 26 February with Jackie. Thanks

Sorry couldn't say, I think they are on the internet but we just walk to it when holidaying in the area. There is only one screen though so not much choice but they do show new films
