Although you can't go inside and there isn't an awful lot of info, its a great place to stop for a picnic or to just pull up to in your car (weather depending). Near by you'll find deer roaming around freely and maybe even spot...More

My wife and I had a leisurely stroll around the Castle and grounds and even on a dreich day it is still beautiful. Positioned out on the loch and surrounded by the Arran views with the mountains in the backdrop it really is classic Scotland

Great view with a nice visit from the local wildlife. Pick a good day and the view is worth it. A small sandwich bar nearby is also a welcoming sight.

The castle is beautifully situated and well worth a half hour's visit. It's particularly lovely when the tide is in and it is almost surrounded by water, The architecture is very interesting - many styles and alterations which are well explained on the story boards.

Lochranza is situated at the north end of the Isle of Arran and the castle is situated on a spit of land extending out into the loch. It is a wonderful setting. The castle has all four outer walls intact but is largely a ruin...More
