About
Acres of gentle Moray countryside surround the rose-coloured Brodie Castle, ancestral home of the Brodie clan for over 400 years, although their family seat has been here since the 12th century. See how changing times altered the castle’s shape and purpose. The impenetrable 16th-century guard chamber is flanked on one side by a cosy 17th-century wing and on the other by a sprawling Victorian extension. The castle houses a magnificent collection of furniture, ceramics and artwork, including works by 17th-century Dutch masters and 20th-century Scottish Colourists. It also boasts an impressive library containing over 6,000 volumes. The Playful Garden at Brodie Castle is full of excitement for all the family. Located near to the castle, it explores the Brodie family history in a novel and fun-filled way.

Went to the illuminations the other evening and it was quite disappointing. Apart from the castle having paintings projected on it and the talking tree, the rest was just lit up trees, 3 x carvings, a shadow wall and the kids area lit up… it was pretty boring. When walking around a few children were complaining to their parents they were bored. I would say it is suitable for ages 1- 7 years old… Sorry

We visited the castle and estate with our 4 year old grandaughter. The tour of the castle was excellent and the lego hunt kept her engaged. Our tour guide (ailsa) shared interesting info without overloading with facts. The adventure play area and the playful garden are both fabulous for youngsters and there are glorious walks on the estate. A really good day out with something for everyone. We will definitely return when we are back on the area.

I wanted to go somewhere for cooked food, but found it very hard to find anywhere here. There was a tiny place within the castle but disappointed. Parking and castle are superb but I think the catering provision could be improved.

Brodie Castle is a delightful venue full of glorious artwork, historical items and wonderful furniture. The setting and the childrens' park are also glorious fun (for kids and adults). Our tour guide and all the other staff we met were incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

This is more a stately home than castle. The Brodie family home is full of interesting and historical facts which our tour guide was more than capable to convey. There is a small cafe at the rear with a play area for kids. The grounds have lovely walks which are dog friendly. This place is worth a visit but to remember it’s guided tours .

It was fascinating to take the guided tour of the castle and learn so much about its history. It seemed a slight mistake to visit as my wife has mobility problems and couldn't keep up with the tour but one of the other guides very kindly took her round on a one to one tour of the rooms should access so a big thank you for doing that. It was also very pleasant to sit outside with a cup of tea while we waited for our timed tour.

Fantastic and beautiful castle. Went on the tour of the castle with Helen, which was the highlight of the trip. She was a brilliant guide and passionate about the history of the castle and enthusiastic to share her knowledge with the group. She is an absolute asset to the National Trust for Scotland and to find out she is a volunteer made me appreciate her time all the more.

One of the main reasons we traveled to Scotland was to see our namesake Brodie Castle. On our Rabbies tour itinerary, we were only to see the grounds and have lunch there. Since we are Brodies, it was obviously important that we have a tour of the inside. Our Rabbies bus driver was so kind and arranged for us to have a partial guided tour (we didn't have much time). It is unfortunate that we could not have done a "self-guided" tour as is done in many other castles then we could have seen it all. I asked the tour guide if we could just tour it ourselves without the formal tour guide but was told absolutely not. :( Oddly, wheb we exited the castle through the gift shop, no one was manning it! We were told that would be the case. I could have made off with anything. I did want 4 guide books which cost 16 pounds so I left 20 pounds and a note in a notebook by the cash register. They made an extra 4 pounds as I did not have exact change.
