We stopped at Corrimony Cairn in the early morning on our way to Urquhart Castle- wasn't a soul there and the mist was hanging in the fields surrounding the cairn...it was absolutely beautiful- it almost felt like we had stepped back in time as we...More

It took us a while to find this but it was worth the detour. Very interesting but be warned you have to get on your hands and knees to get inside. And as others have said, there's nothing else there, just the cairn and the...More

We thought we'd gone the wrong way as we were the only ones there. It added to the charm, and worth a visit if only to enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Great experience. Highly recommend it.

I was too scared to climb inside, especially as it was icy and I didn't want to get dirty, but definitely worth a look.

This site is worth an interesting detour if driving out that area. Informative board tells you about the history and you can walk around it and scramble inside.

Just found this on the way to a work site. Stopped to have a look. The information board by the gate is excellent. Amazing to learn that a structure built 4000 years ago is still (almost) intact.

The Corrimony Cairns are worth a visit and only minutes off the Drumnadrochit to Cannich road, setting in a field surrounded by sheep with a small stream running along side of the cairns. The small cairn is over 4000 years old and the standing stones...More
