Nice castle. They did an excellent job with minimum funds to get the old atmosphere back again. Listening to the audio walking through the rooms and imagining how it should have been. Well done!

Braemar Castle is completely intact following a rebuild by an army garrison between various wars in Scotland, so it is a good example of a castle of the period. It was lived in right into the twentieth century, so the furnishing is far closer to...More

We did not have time to go inside but the outside was lovely. Located in the countryside, this castle has all the architectural features one expects to find on a castle. I am sure the inside is lovely as well but the grounds are really...More

Thank you for your review. It is an ideal spot for sunbathing on a fine day! It's even better when you come inside! - not for the sunbathing of course!

Lots of potential. Run by the local community. Our tour guide was excellent and well informed. The castle needs restoration and conservation work to bring it up to first-rate tourist attraction which will only happen if paying visitors pass through the doors. It's a lovely...More

if you are over 65 concession will be applied, or special for family groups You can purchase tea and coffee on site but there are a number of restaurants within the village, all are good reasonable prices.

I am a Farquharson planning to bring my 3 boys to the Braemar castle in the summer of 2018.Their ages will be 18, 27 and 41 at that time. It is on my bucket list to visit the "Farquharson castle" (as we call it) with my boys. Is it possible to stay at the castle? Please email me directly at beekml at yahoo. Thank you for this information and any info u can share about making this visit to the area.
