We caught the tiny car ferry from Islay to Jura and were treated in meeting Kevin the boatman who I quickly found out was Ex-Senior Service - Royal Navy - so after pulling up a sandbag - had a wonderfully amusing blather with our joint...More

Experienced staff guide you on and off. Not a luxury experience, though. Passengers can also go on foot and shelter on deck.

We rolled off the CalMac ferry and straight onto the Jura ferry. Fares taken onboard and it takes 5 minutes. Just be there on time for the return as it runs very sharp

Short crossing, expensive per mile! but with friendly staff and will make multiple trips if too many are waiting as size is limited.
