First time on Ben Lomond and I opted for the Ptarmigan Path, if it's a dramatic pathway you are looking for I am not sure many would come more dramatic than this, it was stunning from beginning to end, the weather played it's part with...More

Lovely climb this, not too challenging so able by all who attempt it. Great views over both Loch Lomond and the Trossachs - Highly recommend the trip

What a mountain I have been up it 3 times and the first 2 times (2003, 2010) I gave up before I reached the summit this time I was determined I was reaching the summit and I did with the help and encouragement of my...More

Lovely view from start to end. One of the only mountain in Scotland that you can go up one way and down the other way. Beautiful view of the Loch Lomond all over. Don't forget your Smidge for the nasty midges.

I climbed this mountain with a full rucksack via Ptarmigan which is the scenic if a little more challenging route, the other way (which I took down) is a little easier but less seanic, it was slightly misty at the top but views were still...More

Admittedly helped by having a fantastic day for it, but I really enjoyed this as my first Munro. Nice path, a slightly tricky section towards the top, but for the height of the mountain a pretty "easy" walk. Brilliant views from around halfway up, and...More

Very straight forward path up to the summit. Very busy with people on a sunny day (Arrive early if you want to be able to park). Took the ptarmigan path down, away from the crowds and a little more scenic. Good views over loch lomond.

We had a wonderful walk up Ben Lomond yesterday inspite of the very windy weather. We walked up the ptarmigan path which is quite steep at times and more difficult than the tourist path but we were glad we did this route as it was...More

I think, May, June, September might be the best months. Ben Lomond is considered to be an 'easy' mountain, so you don't need special mountaineering skills to climb it. The foot - path is great, you won't have any problems... More
