Smallish but very interesting museum and archaeological site on early Native American communities in Memphis. Also includes exhibits on local African American life. There are also educational exhibits on the science of archaeology itself, with activities for children. Very cool.

A small museum about the early native settlers from the Choctaw Indians. Reasonably well designed displays with some neat artifacts. Get free entry if you stay at the nearby TO Fuller State Park campground otherwise it's $5.

It is small but has some cool things to look at. They have a video they show you and then you have some exhibits as well as an outside area.

I don't see why people complain about this historical site. It's really not bad for its size. Good exhibits, great outdoor area, and great for school groups.

So, I love history, archaeology, and am a sociologist. This was up my alley. It is not very big, and there are no "digs" that you can watch happening. There is a single replica house. It is mostly an excuse to get out and walk...More

We have enjoyed native history sites all over the country, and were excited about going to Chucalissa. This is definitely not Cahokia. Much, much smaller. Some interesting displays in the museum. The actual site has just some interpretive signs. Smell from the nearby refinery can...More
