Amazing place to visit.

Lots of things to see and do, but it does require a lot of walking. I would not visit on a hot or rainy day.

We walked from our hotel off Beale Street, little over mile. It opens at 10:00AM. We walked over the pedestrian bridge, great views. The park itself is amazing. Shows on the ground with water flow, how the Mississippi River runs, curves and all. Great signage all along the way to explain where you are on the river. No cost if... More

We read about this in USA Today's list of 10 great free things to do in Memphis. While it was free, we had to pay $6 to park [the guy at the guard house told us we could park outside and walk in for free..we paid the $6]. The river model is nearly half a mile long and traces both... More

The work put into the scale model project is overwhelming. We learned so much about the history of the river, the communities around it, and the people who lived and worked it. Granted, this would be a hot activity in the summer, but we enjoyed our walk "down the river to the Gulf" this spring. And it's free!

Take the trolley across the water ($4 per person) or walk it if you want. Great museum on the other side. The sculpted miniature of the Mississippi River system is informative and fun for the kids to wade in. Just enough descriptions to be interesting. And then there is that little ol' river rushing past with occasional barge and paddle... More

My husband and I paid $8 total to ride the monorail ride. It was fun loved it and was looking forward to riding it back. After a long walk through mud island which was nice, we where ready to go. Get back to where we catch the monorail and was told it had lost power and they both where stuck... More

Monorail ride over to the island was nice, great views of the area. Our tour was not so great. The tour guide was very unprofessional. She gave more of her personal thoughts on things rather than actual facts. The facility was not very clean. The whole concept of this park is a wonderful idea but it needs some attention. If... My husband has talked about Mud Island for years, so it was really neat to get to see it myself and to let him experience it again. This is a very scaled down model of the Mississippi River and it shows how it runs through multiple states with the significance the river played in the Civil War. You can take... More
