Fun!

It was during the day so we missed the fun music but we had a good lunch. The weather was very cool so hope to visit when it is warmer to be out and about after sundown.

We have visited Beale Street several times over the years but really got to know it over St. Jude Memphis Marathon weekend. There is good food, drinks and music everywhere on both sides of the two block area that is designated pedestrian only. Bars and restaurants sell beverages right out the walk up windows but go on in and dance... More

Pleanty of gift shops selling alsorts. Great to get souvenirs from. Shwarbs hardware store has been ooen since 1876 and sells everything it even has a small museum ustairs. Beale Street at night transforms completely, coming alive with music from buskers, live bands and bars. Police are parked both top and bottom of the street so you feel safe. Theres... More

I don't drink, which may make a difference. But it just seemed to be pretty quiet there. I was expecting it to be more like Broadway in Nashville and it wasn't. One thing I didn't like was the street people hassling me. I totally feel for them and I'm too kind to ignore them when they're directly talking to me.... More

This is our second trip to Beale Street. Great food and lots of history. Just beware there are a lot of bars... we went once at night for dinner then in the day for lunch. Loved Lanskys... hard rock. Blues city Cafe and Pig on Beale!

Some of the world's best talent plays daily on Beale Street. They are probably over worked and definitely under paid but fans get the benefit. It's an up close and personal experience like you get nowhere else. Live music every day of the week, excellent food and awesome service plus meeting people from around the world. I love Beale Street.... More

Must have the shrimp and grits at BB Kings. I found they had the best entertainment also. This was my first trip here and it was just my wife and I but I would love to return with a large gruop for a few nights of of the blues. Find out when Memphis Jones is playing and don't miss his... More

Went to Beale Street to do some shopping and to eat at Dyer's Burgers. Awesome. Not my first trip to Beale but it's always interesting. Not a lot of foot traffic on a Thursday evening but we were able to get in and out of stores easily. Highly recommend a trip to Beale Street if you are in Memphis. Great... More
