Very lively, music all round you, but too much of it is modern stuff. Not a lot of jazz or country when we went. Drink a little high compared with UK, in some places. Overall a great experience at night, but not for little ones

We were lucky on both visits because on the first night there was a widescreen projecting a concert going on at the Daisy Theater, and fireworks. and on the second night there was a band playing in Handy Park, so our opinion of Beale St...More

Even though quite loud at times the street provides you with live music Memphis style almost 24/7. Jazzy, bluesy, rocky places with awesome food that is quite affordable and of course souvenirs all over the street. Though, souvenirs are quite costly in my opinion -...More

If you like a more mellow scene, Beale street is your thang! Blues, beer, and homeless dudes. Had a good time but the homeless are a bit aggressive.

Lots of music piping out of every nook and cranny. Too loud in most venues to enjoy. At night there are police cars parked everywhere which gave a certain sense of unsafeness. Lots of panhandlers. Can only spend so much time there as the street...More

We enjoyed Beale Street. We were there during the day so it wasn't crowded but I'm sure after dark it is a happening area. Again, you gotta visit Beale St. just to experience Memphis!

A nice place to visit when in Memphis. Not an awful lot to do if your a non drinker of alcohol, except shop for gifts. Certainly plenty of places to eat and see music and art exhibits.

The street is blocked of for pedestrians so there is plenty of place to walk around. There street has only three things; bars, restaurants and souvenir shops.

Looks like it would be a fun place to go for a few hours to enjoy a cup of shine or listen to some blues or just people watch.

Yes its reasonable to find either street parking or lots/garages. He minor league baseball team and NBA play on either side of Beale so there's parking all around.
