Not a musician but really interesting tour seeing the guitars made. A little noisy in parts but fascinating seeing the very skilled workers doing their stuff.

Interesting to see and learn how guitars are made. Good and informative guide. Factory concerned about safety of tourists and workers.

Whether you are a guitar musician or not this is a great place to see how they hand make these beautiful instruments. We went to the 1pm tour to ensure that workers were present. We came from the 10:30 Sun Studio tour and actually could have made the Noon tour at Gibson. It's about a mile drive between them and... More

I enjoyed the factory tour. It was on Sat so the craftsmen were not working but the tour guide did a great job. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Memphis

This tour had been on our plan for Memphis for weeks. We were very excited about it. However, that excitement quickly faded because of the tour guide. He wasn't the least bit friendly, and spent the entire tour rudely chastising tourists over cell phones on belt loops, safety glasses that had slipped off, or a small toe that had cross... More

Even my wife, who doesn’t play guitar, enjoyed this visit and would recommend it. All Gibson’s semi-acoustics are made here. It’s very interesting to see what is done by computer- driven machinery and what is done by hand. For example the guitar tops are cut out by machine but the frets are put in by hand. The tour takes about... More

We are not guitar experts but we very much enjoyed this tour. Our guide (Ed Bob??) seemed a little wooden a first but he had a wicked sense of humor. BUT...it was very hard to hear and the room was VERY dusty. There should be the option of face masks for those of us who seemed to have inhaled a... More

Absolutely worth visiting. My husband is a guitarist and owner of several Gibson guitars so this was on his 'must do' list. I found it fascinating too ....just seeing the whole process from the very first piece of wood right through to the finished varnished guitar .You can get get up close and personal on this tour with all parts... We took the tour which is one hour at 1:00. Our tour guide had to talk over the din of the loud noises in the factory and was hard to hear. We could have skipped this tour and just looked at the retail store with gorgeous guitars for sale.

This is a must see if you are a musician or lover of musical instruments. It's interesting to see how the Gibson hollow body or semi-hollow electric guitar, and it's the only Gibson factory you can tour. We were lucky to go while luthiers were at work (Friday noon tour) and could watch them while they were working as our... More
