Worth the hike to get up here, the scenery is just amazing. A fantastic reward for a challenging hike which should not be underestimated.

I'd say it is significantly more difficult. I found the Minfford path up Cadair Idris to be far steeper and the pathways have suffered quite badly from erosion whereas up Pen y fan, they have been excellently maintained... More

Definitely no open fire on the mountain. I did not see any places where one could make open fires.
