Had a lovely walk along the river with the dog, who hopped in and out at several points! First part from Dolgellau is on a proper path, but a bit muddy after that, but still a nice walk which seemed popular with locals and tourists.

Staying just north of Dolgellau, we detoured along the Mawddach Trail, as i wanted to visit the nearby wooden toll bridge. Stunning area of natural beauty in southern Snowdonia. Very very wet in April - just bring waterproofs!!!

This trail starts in the centre of Dolgellau and takes you all the way along the estuary to Barmouth. Its start heading from Dolgellau is not really that interesting but as you walk along it gets better and better. The route itself is easy to...More

This is a great walk (between Dolgellau and Barmouth). You will see the estuary as well as plenty of wildlife. I went on a cold rainy day and I still had a great time. I only imagine that it is much better on a nice...More

It's a 9 mile walk from Dolgellau to Barmouth along the Mawddach Trail. It can also be done on a bike, or in a wheelchair. It's very level, with good views (though some parts have trees either side, restricting vision). We got the bus back...More

I love how this trail unfolds and you get glimpses of the viaduct in the distance. Park at the George, run all the way to the end, add a little loop on the road and back to the George and BINGO! 13.1 miles and a...More
