The museum is temporarily closed for essential survey and maintenance work. The site of one of Britain's oldest tinplate works Original machinery and buildings are on show along with exhibits on coal mining, other industries and crafts.

The museum really needs an injection of new blood and probably new money or it will decay quietly. This would be a tragedy for the town.

I did see dogs there with owners. Some of the exhibits are outdoors anyway.
