Love the park close to home. Good camp spots. Not real close to the lake. Has cabins right on the lake. Take plenty of bug spray in the warm months.

Meant to do the one mile trail, but didn't see the markers and accidentally did the 4 mile trail. It was beautiful but my thighs still hurt a week later! Beautiful, well kept area. Highly recommend- loved the general store. We bought lots of jams and listened to wonderful live music.

This is a nice park which is easy to get to in the Millington/Memphis area. There are nice hiking trails.

Highly recommend arriving during daylight hours for camping! It gets pretty dark because of all the trees and minimal lights. Do NOT miss the turn for the campground! We ended up on a one way road for hunters... There are few signs directing you back to the campground. Camper sites are ~55 foot long, back-in style. ($20/night + $5) There... More

Shelby Forest in beautiful but obviously needed some major attention. The picnic tables were in a state of disrepair and quite frankly, I would not want to eat off them. The lodge looked run down too. The state needs to invest in this natural beauty, she deserves to be cared for.

Very nice park. So many things to do. Wonderful drive. Very scenic. Can get right up to the shoes of the Mississippi River. Picnic areas throughout.

Decent stay. Staff were helpful. The 4 mile hike had a small creek but no waterfalls. The pool is permanently closed... which they should bring back because it's the only pool in the area! Cabins were fairly clean but we had roach problems, horse flys, and wasps. Bug spray is a must and roach spray!!! Keep the doors closed. Be... More

Had a wonderful stay in the park, peaceful well looked after, restrooms need an update but otherwise a real gem. Staff were absolutely sensational to deal with, Leanne who dealt with our booking was delightful. We went on a guide canoe tour through the swamp on the Saturday with Park Ranger Rob as our guide, fantastic guide, a wealth of... More

We rented a cabin for Memorial day weekend and was very disappointed. The cabin and the furniture was run down but I was pleased with how spacious it was. The park is really beautiful and it was very peaceful. The staff at the boat rentals and the visitor center were very friendly. That is about all I can say that... More
