We had such a lovely day here. The walks were lovely, weather was rubbish but it was so beautiful we didn't care. Stunning views , great for photos a lovely family day out. We had a picnic at what we called the giant tables and visited several of the rspb huts and did some bird watching.

We decided to have a wander around prior to checking into the nearby lake vyrnwy hotel. The lake is stunning and the visitor centre is well worth a visit. Anyone who is interested in birds will love sitting in the RSPB hide, I've never seen so many as well as some grey squirrels. The cafes and art and craft shops... More

Stopped here to get a look at the stunning views of the lake and dam. The drive around the lake is worth every minute of your time. Luckily the weather was good and we could see for miles.

We popped to the lake for a few hours and took advantage of the free parking near the cafe. We walked across the damn and took in the incredible feat of engineering, followed by a walk to the sculpture garden below. We stopped in to the RSPB hide on the way down and we're amazed at the incredible close up... More

A day or two at lake vyrnwy is a chance to unwind and enjoy the nature. Or pedal like a crazy thing to circle the lake ! Some of the trees in the area are as big as the leaning tower of Pisa or Big Ben. Take a picnic and chill out. A lovely family day out.

Considered by many to be the most beautiful lake in Wales, Lake Vrynwy is tucked away in a landscape of rolling meadoes, towering crags, rushing waterfalls, mysterious forest and moorlands. It lies just to the south of Snowdonia. The site offers five waymarked trails and a number of shorter trails of varying length for you... More

We visited today and had a brilliant day! We started at the rspb visitor centre where we received excellent advice and guidance from a female member of staff. She advised us of two route suitable for our families. (7 children 3-10) First we expired the sculpture trail which was very interesting and gave us great views of the dam. We... More

To us, the best bit about Lake Vyrnwy was the Victorian dam, so impressive and majestic. We also cycled around the lake, which took us about 3 hours as we kept on stopping to take pictures. Also had lunch at one of the café, which had a great view of the dam. We noticed a playground, so will probably be... More

Wonderful views, a bit windy for an electric outboard to be honest, but I am quite sure it isn't always like that. Fishing is good, but all that I caught were small. Difficult to have a blank day I would suggest...

A quite good place to spend a few hours. Nice surroundings, the dam is interesting. The area is flat and you can rent a bike to cycle around the lake. Definitely recommended doing. Takes a maximum of couple of hours with stops to take pictures. There are also a few cafes in the south east corner of the lake. That... More
