A good wander around the Q station

Walked this place from the visitor centre down the hill. Interesting spot and a lot of history here. Kind of eerie feel in parts (they also do Ghost tours)

We stayed here for a friends birthday, we stayed in one of the 3 bedroom cottages, they were beautifully restored, clean and very comfortable. We stayed in July and the heating in the rooms were excellent. The view in the morning from our accommodation was nothing short of spectacular, then we went down for a fabulous buffet breakfast. To top... More

We were a family group of 11 adults and 3 children who stayed at the station in the accommodation, run by the Accor group, for 3 nights. This is a great venue for families and groups as there are plenty of things to do or it's a nice environment to just relax in with a private beach on site. The... More

We had a last minute booking staying at the Q Station Manly. It was an absolute delight. Lots to do and the waterfront beach was amazing. We had a drink at the pumphouse and some fish and chips - wasn't too expensive, but the atmosphere on a lazy Saturday afternoon was to die for.....enjoy.

Did this trip day after doing the bridge climb therefore could not get the full experience as my legs not fully functional, there is no way I could attempt the stairs. Managed to climb the slope up to the hospital only, sadly you could not enter any of the buildings. Amazing views. Will try trip again in the future when fully... More

We did the ghost tour one evening here & was excellent! We didn't have a car so we got a bus to Manly & then caught a taxi for $10 to the station and then they take you down to the start of the ghost tour in a bus I think they also have a shuttle to Manly as that's... More

Caught in Manly on a rainy day, I wasn't originally planning on visiting Q station, that being said, overall I am glad that I did. I decided to not pay for a tour and just wandered the premise, which was totally fine. I would recommend stopping by the Luggage Store Visitor Centre and Museum to get a better a sense... More

Loved hearing all the stories of the people that were stuck here. So many died from Spanish Flu and TB. It was sad but also very interesting. Through their writings and poetry they left behind, they are remembered. My children bought me this for my birthday and we all did it together one Winter's night. It's wonderful hearing the history... More

We spent two nights celebrating our 48th anniversary at the Q Station just a few kilometres from Manly towards North Head. First thing we noticed was the friendliness of the reception staff and the cleanliness of the place. We left our vehicle at the car park and boarded the free bus, which runs continually, (just dial 9 and within 10... More

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
