Panther Creek State Park was recommended by the Harbor Mountain Inn for a Saturday morning hike. When we arrived, the visitors building was closed and there were no park/trail maps in the outside kiosk so we were pretty much on our own. The park was beautiful, especially with all of the fall colors. The trails were not very well marked... More

Just got home from a two night camping trip at Panther Creek State Park. An hour and change from where we live, close enough to not travel heavy and far enough away to feel like we went away for a bit. Great camping spots. Not a huge campground so have elbow room between you and neighbors. All spots are paved... More

This is our second time camping here. Our first time was a couple years ago when they were having the erosion problem. It has been all fixed and the park was lovely. It was a full house over the weekend and we were a bit worried about the noise but I have to say I have never seen a quieter... More

Best park in the surrounding area by far .Great hike trails and great accommodations for picnics, not to mention the set up they have for camping that's been recently improved and fixed very nice.

I love the overlook ... it is so pretty and easily accessible by car. There are hiking trails of varying difficulty, as well as a pool open in summer, campgrounds, sand volleyball, and picnic shelters/tables. The park seems pretty well patrolled by park rangers, and I have never had any safety issues there. Dogs are allowed on trails as long... More

The park is great, hiking, swimming, views. Horse and bike trails. Wildlife. But low key with great camping sites. Areas to have family gatherings. But you need to plan and book ahead! Easy to locate, boat access.

I grew up roaming this place, hiking the trails, spelunking the caves, and riding the bicycle trails! They have horse trails, a boat ramp, nature trails of all distances, a swimming pool, camp ground facilities, playground, picnicing areas, ball fields, tennis courts, and a creek running through the park into the lake adjoining the park. It's a great place to... More

We visited this park recently after having not been in quite some time. Its still one of my favorites. There are lots of hiking trails that offer great views of the lake. Camping areas are available too and there is a pool in the summer and a nice playground for the kids.

I'm a little disappointed with Tennessee State parks in general. While there are a few picnic tables, playground, bathrooms, walking trails, etc, it seems like there is potential for more.
