I have done the pinnacle many times so for me it has a sentimental value. I highly recommend completing the hike while staying. For the more scenic (and better) route I suggest going via the Grand Canyon. It can be quite busy during school holidays...More

I began this walk at the Halls Gap carpark and walked via the Wonderland carpark. It rained on and off during the walk but even so there were spectacular views of the mountains. There is adequate railing on all the more difficult parts of the...More

We hiked up to Pinnacle via Grand Canyon pathway, it was around 2.4km hike up hill with various stone steps and stairs! Do recommend people to trek up with adequate water and bring some snacks to enjoy while at the pinnacle.

The views along the way to the pinnacle were other-worldly. We walked the path starting at the wonderland car park. It was beautiful all the way. Make sure you follow the little painted arrow a because it's possible to get off the trail. The rock...More

There is a number of access routes if you don't like the roughly 1,000 steps from Halls Gap. The views over Halls Gap, the Mt William Range, Lake Bellfield and the Wonderland Range are worth the effort.

Loved this walk. It was very foggy and we couldn't see down below but the walk/climb to get there was great.

I am a regular visitor to the Grampians for Hiking and Camping, and while we aim to try new hikes each time, we always hike up to the Pinnacles for the view and Morning Tea. We always take the hike from the Wonderland Car park,...More

This would be too much in one day! Stay in Halls Gap or Dunkeld and then go to Port Campbell the next morning.

Thanks for all the answers, we have stayed one night in Halls gap, did the pinnacle and McKenzie falls the next morning, and went to GOR in the afternoon and stayed one night in Port Campbell. Pinnacle is the best of all
