This place is lovely, we spent an afternoon enjoying the well maintained gardens and going for walks, this park has been established for a very long time so the trees are magnificent, the scenery is so nice and the bush walks are easy, plenty of bbq facilities and well maintained grass for a relaxing picnic and plenty of room for... Had a wonderful time wandering around the park and over the dam. A great mix of autumn colours. Would love to return in the summer months.

I write this hesitatingly as we have visited many times. There had been severe storm damage and so much of the place was closed due clean up work. However as others have noted, the rest of the park which was once well kept and pristine is a disgrace. There seems to be no response from those concerned and I only... More

We spent an idylic hour or so wandering around the park on a perfect autumn day - plenty of parking, great picnic areas available and a wide variety of easy to more challenging walks throughout the whole area

The place is spectacular. After a nice breakfast in Healsville we decided to visit the Dam. Amazing views and very calm. But... Some people making picnics and BBQ might think they are at home. Some a lot of soft drink cans, plastic bottle dumped everywhere. I saw even some children playing with rubbish. Perhaps the place need more signs saying... More

This is a good day out, the camping grounds are close by. This also has a caravan park, at our time visiting fire were allowed. The dam levels were low but still a great day.

We're locals and understand the destruction the storm caused last year. However its ridiculous that its taking sooooo long to complete the clearing work, so far the only park to be fully opened is Donney's Weir, Badger Creek is still closed. Even if perhaps the litter could be tidied up, there are only 2 toilet blocks in the park that... More

This location was next to my hotel. I was quite surprised - it was not on my to do list, but I woke up earlier than expected and I decided to see the area before checking out. Well worth it! It's pretty - I definitely wish I spent more time here.

I've been visiting the Maroondah Dam for years with school groups and they all love it. The wall is a rock foundation concrete gravity dam with an uncontrolled rock chute spillway across the Watts River. The principal purpose of the dam and its reservoir is to supply potable water for Greater Metropolitan Melbourne. Constructed in the 1920's by the Melbourne... More
