Happened across this display on our Melbourne to Brisbane drive, great collection of old cars, motorbikes and machinery. The volunteers that helped run the museum were very happy answer any questions about the exhibits. They have some memorabilia on sale and refreshments are available, if you are going through Maffra stop and have a look.

Thanks for your review Kyle. We are pleased you have commented. It is very hard to get travellers off the highway, and your encouragement is exactly what we need. Again, thanks. More

Run by enthusiastic volunteers housing a good display of vehicles and has a small cafe. Well worth a visit.

We visited the museum and found a great array of cars. Staff were in the process of changing the displays and there was still plenty to see, motorcycles and cars alike. It is staffed by volunteers so it is only open Friday til Monday normal times but is open all week during school holidays. Prices are reasonable with complimentary tea... More

Hu Tiny, Thanks for your great review of our community Motor Museum in Maffra. We have now finished our changeover of vehicles and the "Red Alert - Tribute to the Holden Red Motor" is now complete and looks fantastic. Of particular note is the Holden Torana GTR-X concept car - a true one and only!!! Hope to see you again... More

Had heard about this museum and must say my expectations were exceeded. The display of vehicles and memorabilia encapsulates segments of both local and national transport heritage. The open expanse of the building with some 2000sq.m of floor space, allows large and small vehicles to be displayed so you miss none of them. The motorcycle/bicycle display is fantastic. In the... A very good place to learn history of cars. I went there with my 9 year old boy. Who really loves to go back again.

Hi Duminda B. Thanks for your visit to the Gippsland Vehicle Collection in Maffra. We are very pleased that you and your boy enjoyed the visit, and particularly that you were interested in learning the history of cars. Even more so when we are closing our major vehicle manufacturing factories. Only 10 years ago we would have been crying at... More

This fundraiser event is held annually at the Gippsland Vehicle Collection and triples the number of cars to view. The theme is topless cars (convertibles) and cars came in from as far afield as Tasmania. A great day out.

Thanks Andy_James142 . So glad you enjoyed your day out at the Gippsland Vehicle Collection in Maffra. The display on the lawns made the trip out in the potential rain well worthwhile. We were delighted with the number of display vehicles we got on the day. Some car-nuts won't bring their cars out in the rain - others are tougher... More

The display of vehicles is impressive and changes quarterly, it's a bit like walking into a movie set however everything is genuine! The layout makes for an involved experience, it's unlike most other museums, I love the involvement of the community, and there is a rock and roll band that have formed within the members called the rusty rockers, they... Thanks for your great review Trevor. We are so pleased you enjoyed our Motor Museum. All our volunteers work long and hard to ensure your experience within our museum is a most satisfying one. We find generally that is so. The GVC Rusty Rockers were formed when we featured a 1960's vehicle display in 2013 and we continue to enjoy... More

Great display for the motor enthusiast and the Wife, with a bit of everything to look at, I loved looking at the cars and motorbikes, the information sheets with them were in A4 size, just enough info, about the display and time period theme, even has a retro work shop display, plenty of memorabilia around, also history of the fascinating... Thanks for your review robcross. We are really glad you enjoyed your time with us. Our current theme is "Never Been Kissed" Vehicles - un-restored masterpieces. This theme gave us an opportunity to display vehicles in fairly original condition, if nothing else highlighting how well the vehicles have lasted over the years. The scary part is that these vehicles we... More
