Been wanting to visit the Belmont Mansion for years. Just retired a few years ago. More free time. I decided to come on after reading a newspaper article about Adalicia's birthday and more about the history of the mansion. Just so happens we both share the same Birthday. I went and was I so ever glad I did. Very interesting... More

I enjoyed the tour, the guides seem to be very informed about the history of the house but a very important part of the house was not completed for tour and that would be the kitchen. It is such an important part of how life was back then I was very surprised this part of the home was not restored!... More

Hi...I have the same birthday as Adelicia Acklen and Andrew Jackson (March 15), so we usually rotate each year by visiting Belmont one year and the Hermitage the next, and this year, as President Trump's visit caused the Hermitage to be closed (and since we went there last year anyway), we came to Adelicia's birthday celebration. We have been to... More

I was amazed by the authenticity of the mansion, the knowledge of the guide, and the friendliness of the staff. I learned a lot that afternoon.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Belmont Mansion! It made me feel like I was visiting friends when I had to ring the doorbell--nice touch. The docent was very knowledgeable and kept her information very interesting and informative. Will definitely suggest a visit to my friends!

Our tour guide showed passion and was very knowledgeable . He transported us back in time. They were doing some renovations at the time of our visit. They were able to walk us around and make it work. I wish that the stairs to the look out on the roof were able to be used. Would have liked to see... More

We happened to arrive on Adelicia Acklen's 200th Birthday and to our great surprise, admission was free with a piece of cake and cup of tea after the tour! Wonderful!! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions . The mansion is beautiful with glory and sadness all through it. I would recommend if you are in the... More

This college is so beautiful. The mansion is kept in pristine condition and the tour is very informative. The property is kept just as it was in the days of being an actual residence. I loved seeing each room.

We happened to go on the 200th birthday of Adelicia Acklen. Our guide was full of interesting stories and we learned that Adelicia was truly ahead of her time, requiring her second husband to sign a prenup before marrying her as her first husband had left her quite wealthy. She also ran the blockade during the Civil War to make... More

We have been on many antebellum house tours, but this was one of the best. The tour guides are very knowledgeable about everything from history to architecture to the furniture. They have much of the original furniture which is impressive, and know much about the family history. They are also doing a good job of slowly restoring the house. You... More
