Add some exotic to the everyday with Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Wander through a lush canopy of bamboo, come face to face with a clouded leopard, feed some Australian parrots, and delve into the far reaches of the Amazon. Nashville Zoo is your ticket to African giraffes, poison arrow frogs, zebras, red pandas, kangaroos, gibbons, meerkats and much more! Children of all ages will be fascinated with the zoo’s Highlighted Habitats. Find out why a baby giraffe likes warm temperatures. Walk the winding path through 4,500 square feet of naturalistic Australian landscape in the Kangaroo Kickabout. In the Kickabout, you will be in the home of a troop of red kangaroos. Keep your eyes and ears open for the cockatoos that also live in Kangaroo Kickabout. In between your animal adventures, be sure to take a spin on our Wild Animal Carousel, get a new view of the Zoo from Soaring Eagle zip line, monkey around our 66,000-square-foot Jungle Gym, or even step back in time on the walking tour at our Grassmere Historic Home and Farm. When you visit the 1810 historic home, you will learn about the name “Grassmere” and how the zoo came to be located there.

The landscaping was very pretty and a very clean atmosphere.....A little disappointed for the price that there weren't more animals...even more in each exhibit? Although there was plenty of play areas for children and shaded areas to get out of the sun. Impressed with the...More

The zoo was great - being animal lovers we were very impressed with the natural habitats that the animals were in - trying to keep it as natural as possible. The old house tour was really interesting to see how it all began - a...More

My wife and I and our 19-year-old daughter really enjoyed our trip to the zoo this week. They have really made many improvements and I enjoyed the fact the paths all walk through the woods where you are in the shade instead of direct sunshine...More

The Nashville zoo is a beautiful walking zoo with large spaces between animal exhibits, friendly servers and plenty to eat. It certainly isn't a large zoo so don't expect to see lots of animals but it does have a great park, zip lines and carousel...More

I have always enjoyed going to the zoo and have visited them in various locations in the country. This certainly wasn't the best zoo I have ever visited, but it wasn't bad. It was clean and maintained well. A decent variety of animals with more...More

We walked the whole way through the zoo. Most of the animals were outside when we visited, and we were able to get some good pictures. We brought our own lunch and drinks and enjoyed having a short picnic at one of the tables. We...More

We are visiting Nashville from out of state and thought this would be a good way to spend the day because we have a toddler. We arrived at 9:30 and the woman at the ticket was not pleasant or helpful at all, very rude. I...More

Currently this zoo is under construction as said by others. However one thing to keep in mind is this is a newer zoo. The story behind it and why it came about is a definite a-ha moment. I see this zoo growing over the years... More
